Unleashing the Splendor
Girls Who Write
In this workshop, we talk about the basics of storytelling (plot, setting, memorable characters), then dive even more deeply into the finer points of creative writing, adding dialogue, humor, and your own unique voice to the page. We use personal experiences and some stimulating media as a jumping-off point to create stories that really get to the heart of what you have to say. We will even talk a bit about publishing. Best of all, we’ll have the kind of fun only a creative group of girls with pens and words can.
Unleashing the Splendor – Girls Who Write is a workshop that works best over two evenings or half-days. It is designed for tween and teen girls who want to write.
“I have had the privilege of participating in two of Eve Allen’s writing workshops, Unleashing the Splendour (for tweens and teens) and The Masks We Wear. Both courses address the power of words and story. Unleashing the Splendour, geared for tweens and teen girls, helps the participant to realise the power of telling one’s story, while The Masks We Wear allows the participant to discover and break out of the words we have allowed others to place upon us, and show our true self while embracing the authenticity of others.
“Eve’s teaching style allowed for a dynamic atmosphere in which to learn creative writing techniques while still allowing the space to feel and appropriately respond to the varying life stories and emotions shared by participants. Strangers at the commence of the course became united spirits through the bond of expressing their humanities through creative writing.
“Eve’s wealth of knowledge, life experience, and compassionate counselling abilities, allowed for each participant to feel valued, cared for, and safe to share their story. At the end, each course participant left with knowledge and experience to powerfully communicate their story.
“Whether you have been writing for years or you are just beginning, I recommend Eve Allen’s workshops to anyone looking to experience the hope filled exercise of communicating life through the power of story.”
